This was the last photo project I put together last time I was in India. It’s a slice out of a day in the life of a couple of men I came to know while living in Varanasi. While during the day these men are seen as lepers … beggars … untouchables, in the evening, after they’ve returned to their slum village on the outskirts of town, they’re revered as village elders … grandfathers … and living examples of the hope that can be found in the face of oppression.
